Mobile apps simplify the travel experience by making communication easier, keeping your documents in one place and setting reminders for important flights and meetings that you can't miss. These apps won't defeat your jet lag, but they will help keep your trip and your business running smoothly. Try Trello for sharing to-do lists, Zoom for attending office meetings online that you would otherwise miss, and Apple Wallet for securely storing your tickets and money.
To find the best ones, we asked nine entrepreneurs from YEC what apps they couldn't live without while they're traveling.
1. TripIt
TripIt is great because it automatically finds travel-related emails and purchases for hotels, flights and day trips, and pulls them into the app so that I can see everything in one place. It alerts me to things like when I can check in online, and when my gate has changed. 2. Zoom
When I'm on the road, it's challenging to attend every important meeting in person. With Zoom, I am able to host webinars, attend video conferences, screen share and group chat wherever I go. Staying connected is vital to our company's operations as we grow each division.3. Trello
Trello is the best mobile app that my team and I use to stay organized while traveling. Trello is a digital bulletin board that you can use to set up anything from to-do lists, project pipelines and more. We have designated boards for our tasks that we rank by priority. 4. Freckle
Freckle is a time-tracking and organizational app that allows me to manage my travel, personal and work time while traveling. I can divide up my time and then get alerts when I need to switch gears. 5. 24me
24me is an amazing app to use while traveling, especially if you have a busy schedule ahead of you. I travel to conferences on a frequent basis, and 24me reminds me of every meeting I need to make and every message I need to send; it even alerts me to what's going on back at the office. An oldie but a goodie, Evernote is an amazing tool for keeping your trip (and your day-to-day routine) organized. Its interface is simple and elegant, and being able to bring all of your concerns together in one place is amazingly useful and makes travel a breeze. 8. Google Calendar
You can easily create time blocks in Google Calendar, add and remove scheduled events, and share your calendar with others (if necessary). You can also add to-do items if need be. 9. Apple Wallet
I love my Apple Wallet because I can store my itinerary, reservations and money within it so I don't have to carry around all of my paperwork and struggle to find what I need to check in somewhere.
