Vermont, Victoria, is a town that pays tribute to its roots in a variety of ways. This suburb is where you can find the Vermont Volunteers Roll of Honour. The board used to pay respect to those in WWI and hangs in Scout Hall. The names listed here can also be found in the neighbouring memorials in Mitcham and Blackburn. There are other historic buildings in the area too. The post office opened in 1881 and was renamed Vermont in 1889. The Vermont East Post Office operated from 1964 to 1993!
