Job Requirements for Aurora
As an AquaMobile swim instructor, you will need:
- Up to date First Aid & CPR certification: Complete a two-year certification from the Canadian Red Cross. Coast2Coast First Aid/CPR and Heart2Heart CPR First Aid Training are local organizations that offer courses.
- Swim Instructor/Lifeguard certification: Pass the practical and written exams to obtain a valid certification from the Canadian Red Cross. The town of Aurora and the Lifesaving Society teach courses.
- Access to reliable transportation: Viva Service (bus system that connects Markham, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Vaughan and Newmarket and links to the TTC and GO Transit), GO Transit (light rail system that connects York Region to surrounding areas), Uber/Lyft (rideshare services), cabs (Todays Taxi, AAA Aurora Taxi, etc.), personal car
- Two or more years of swim teaching/coaching and/or lifeguarding experience
- A love for swimming and a passion for teaching
