Job Requirements for Santa Barbara
As an AquaMobile swim instructor, you will need:
- Up to date First Aid & CPR certification: Get your two-year American Red Cross certification from a local organization such as Safety Matters Certified Training and Code3Life.
- Swim Instructor/Lifeguard certification: Pass the practical and written exams administered by the American Red Cross to get your proper certification. The Santa Barbara Department of Recreation and Streamline Health.
- Access to reliable transportation: Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District (bus system with over 30 lines that run through Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, Goleta, Montecito, Summerland and Isla Vista), Uber/Lyft (rideshare services), cab (Green Taxi, Lucky Cab, etc.), personal car
- Two or more years of swim teaching/coaching and/or lifeguarding experience
- A love for swimming and a passion for teaching
