What to do if your child, or you, ever end up in deep water: come back up, get a breath, stay afloat and get to safety. These skills are practised in lessons only, with your instructor in the water, and they never replace supervision.
Your child learns to come back up calmly after going into deep water feet first, then settle and get their breath back. Feeling the water help bring them up takes a lot of the fear away.
