Hello! I am a teacher, writer, and life-long swimmer and water polo player. Growing up in California, I was lucky enough to be in the pool year-round, and I have been teaching swimming for over 15 years to students of all ages. I began competitive swimming at age five, then swam and played water polo all the way through high school. I was a freestyle sprinter, breaststroker, and IMer, and I loved competing in relays and whittling my times by swimming 200’s in practice. In college, I switched my focus solely to water polo and played 2Meter/Hole for Bucknell University’s Women’s Water Polo team (aka the best four years of my life!). Most recently, I taught swimming full-time to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade at a private school in NYC. I loved teaching the little ones to swim as much as I loved teaching the older kids how to do flip-turns, dives, and improve their times. I also served as the Boys and Girls Varsity Swim Coach and taught private lessons to infants, kids, and adults, coached Masters Swim, and ran after school water polo and swim clinics. Bottom line–I love swimming and I am a flexible, easy-going, and student-focused instructor. I love helping babies and beginners gain comfort in the water just as much as much as I love fine-tuning strokes with a competitive swimmer in preparation for an upcoming meet. Most of all, I make swimming FUN! Whatever your needs, don’t hesitate to be in touch! Look forward to meeting you.

Hello! My name is Ethan and I am current student at the NYU Stern School of Business where I am studying finance. I am a current varsity athlete on the swim team here at NYU. I have 15+ years of competitive swimming experience at both regional and national levels. I have over 5 years of swim lesson experience, and have been a certified lifeguard for that same timeframe at a community pool in my hometown in New Jersey. I addition to prior lesson experience, I have extensive competitive coaching experience. I’ve coached at the Bridgewater Blue Dolphins Swim Team, and most recently I was assistant competitive coach at the Raritain Valley Country Club. There, I was in charge mostly of the 5-8 year old age group. I have worked with children as young as 3 years all the way to national level athletes. I am very passionate and enthusiastic about the world of swimming, as it has been an integral part of my life since I was five years old. Hi! I’m Desmond. I’m currently a senior at the University of Houston. I have been a swim instructor for the past four years and I have been coaching for the past six years. I swam competitively during summer league and in high school where I was the team captain. I taught myself to swim when I was six years old and I’ve been in the water ever since. I love swimming because I think it is a great outlet for kids and a fun activity that helps us stay in shape. A fun fact about me is that I have been an uncle since I was born, so I happen to be great with kids! I like to use a gentle approach with teaching kids because I think the best way children learn is when they are comfortable and feel safe. I am excited to be working with AquaMobile this summer and look forward to producing a lot of great swimmers!

I love swimming and being close to warm beaches, which is one of the reasons I relocated from Boston, MA to south Florida. I have been swimming since I was 3 years old and mastered all of the swim strokes by the time I was 9 years old. At 9 years old, I joined a local YMCA swim team and swam the backstroke, butterfly, relays, and IMs (individual medleys). When I moved to North Carolina for college, I joined club swimming and we competed at the D3 level.
I have been a swim instructor on and off for the past 11 years. I started giving lessons at the Greater Boston YMCA and have taught all ages from infants to adults.
I’m looking forward to sharing my passion for swimming with you!

I have nearly two decades of experience in Aquatics including employment with the YMCA, YWCA, Rice University, Westminster School, Agnes Scott College, and the Hartselle City Pool dating back to 1996. I have conservatively estimated that I have instructed over 1,000 people in swimming since that time ranging in age from 6 months to 76 years. I take safety around the water very seriously as I had a stepbrother who drowned several years ago and focus my instruction on safety first.
I have held swim instruction certifications from the YWCA and YMCA as well as Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard certifications from the American Red Cross. My First Aid CPR AED certification is current through 7/30/2016 through the American Heart Association.
I have substantial experience teaching private swim lessons to special needs children (deaf, autism spectrum, ADHD) as well as adults ranging in skill from beginners with fear of the water all the way through stroke improvement techniques with triathletes. I was a competitive swimmer and diver for many years and specialized in butterfly, breaststroke, and IM and have experience coaching and teaching advanced swim techniques. I have also worked with adult women wearing FINA approved swim attire and limited English skills. In aqua aerobics I’ve taught a wide age and skill range as well as designed and developed my own course.Book Now!
