BIO

Hey there! My name is Kathy and I am currently enrolled in my second year of Health Sciences at Wilfrid Laurier University. I have loved being in the water since my first swimming lesson back when I was 3 years old. Ever since then my passion for swimming has just kept growing. When I’m not in the water, I enjoy playing volleyball, badminton, spending time with close friends and family, and travelling. In high school I joined the swim team to strengthen my technique and learn new training methods. I have taught swimming lessons for the past 3 summers, and volunteered as a swimming instructor assistant for a year prior to that. Through the years I have had experience working with a variety of students who’s swimming skills and water comfort levels greatly varied. I pride myself in being able to adjust my teaching methods and customizing lesson plans to suit each individuals needs, while creating a positive and fun learning environment! I am very patient and encouraging when I teach, and love seeing my students grow and achieve their goals in the pool! I look forward to getting to know each of my students and working with them to help them become better swimmers this summer!
