BIO

Hi! My name is Miranda and I am 21. I have been swimming since I was 7, I swam competitively in my High School swim team for four years. That is also where I received my lifeguard certification at the age of 17. Then I spent my summers and weekends lifeguarding, until I found a job at a YMCA in New York City and I began teaching. I have been teaching for 3 years now and I have worked with a variety of age groups, levels and group sizes. I have worked with summer camp swim lessons and taught up to 25 beginner kids at the same time. I also worked with group classes of 6-12 students and private and semi-private lessons. I have taught older, more advanced swimmers and younger, beginner swimmers. I looooove teaching small children from the ages of 3 to 5 years old. I make all swimming activities fun, I can easily break down the strokes for the need of the student, and I am very patient with children who are not comfortable in the water.
