Most new swimmers start with the same foundation: feeling calm, confident and in control in the water. Your instructor builds these fundamentals step by step, at the swimmer's own pace.
Water Comfort and Breath Control
Before any stroke work begins, swimmers learn to relax in the water, submerge their face, and blow bubbles with a steady rhythm. Breath control comes first because floating, gliding and kicking all go better once a swimmer can breathe out calmly with their face in the water.
Floating and Body Position
Front and back floats teach swimmers how their body balances in the water. A relaxed, horizontal body position creates less drag, so kicking and gliding take less effort.
Kicking and Propulsion
Using kickboards, wall drills, and guided practice, students develop a strong, steady flutter kick — the engine behind freestyle and backstroke.
Safe Entries and Exits
Swimmers practice getting in and out of the pool safely, turning back to the wall after a jump, and understanding pool rules: the first water-safety habits a swimmer builds.
