What this swimming skill is
In the breaststroke kick, both legs do the same thing at the same time, like mirror images. The heels come up, the feet turn out, and the legs sweep round and together before a glide.
It builds on the flutter kick and the dolphin kick. Your child learns it on the back first, then on the front. Next comes the scissor kick, done lying on the side, and later the full breaststroke.
