Job Requirements for Las Vegas
As an AquaMobile swim instructor in Las Vegas, you will need:
- Up to date First Aid & CPR certification: Two-year certification from an accredited organization such as the American Red Cross or American Aquatics and Safety Training from a school like Prism CPR Training Center or Las Vegas CPR and First Aid.
- Swim Instructor/Lifeguard certification: Completion of a valid certification from an accredited organization and passing the practical and written exams with a score of 80%. Classes are offered at the University of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas CPR society.
- Access to reliable transportation: Regional Transit System of Southern Nevada (covers all of Clark County with 38 bus routes operating every day), taxi (Whittlesea Blue Cab, A Cab Taxi, etc.) Las Vegas Monorail (train system operates only within the city between seven different stations), rideshare services (Uber/Lyft), personal car.
- Two or more years of swim teaching/coaching and/or lifeguarding experience
- A love for swimming and a passion for teaching
Applicants who don’t meet the following requirements will still be considered for the role, providing all relevant qualifications/checks are obtained prior to starting.

This program offers two courses for aspiring swim instructors. The Basic Swim Instructor course covers Preschool Aquatics and Learn-To-Swim Levels 1-3, while the Water Safety Instructor Course includes all age groups. Completing this program qualifies you to teach Learn-to-Swim Levels 4-6 and run adult classes.

Lifeguard Society

There are two versions of lifeguarding courses offered here. The Shallow Water Lifeguarding Course is suitable for pools with 5 feet of water or less, while the Full Lifeguarding Course is for those looking to work in a pool with a depth greater than 5 feet. Both involve being put through a skills test and completing a written exam. Upon passing, students receive an American Red Cross certificate in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED that’s valid for two years.

Stores like Las Vegas Scuba LLC and the Navy are usually on the hunt for divers.
- Pool Operator: With plenty of hotels and resorts around Las Vegas, there are plenty of opportunities for people who like to work with their hands. Responsibilities include fixing problems in swimming pools and promoting pool safety. Places like Fresh & Clear Pool Service Inc. and Flamingo Pool Company hire this position.
- Dolphin Trainer: People love to come and watch dolphins do tricks in the water. A job keeping them happy and healthy can be just the right fit for an animal lover! Here in Las Vegas, you can train dolphins at hotels like the MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay.
