Job Requirements for Hilton Head Island
As an AquaMobile swim instructor in Hilton Head Island, you will need:
- Up to date First Aid & CPR certification: Take a course that’s valid for two years that’s approved by the American Heart Association. Lifelong Learning of Head Island and Hilton Head Island Fire & Rescue offer courses.
- Swim Instructor/Lifeguard certification: Complete certification course at a local organization and pass both the physical and practical exams. Courses are offered at Hilton Head Island Recreation Center and by Shore Beach Service.
- Access to reliable transportation: The Breeze (public bus service that makes stops around the island at certain times), cab (Yellow Transporation HHI, Ferguson Transporation Services, etc.), personal car
- Two or more years of swim teaching/coaching and/or lifeguarding experience
- A love for swimming and a passion for teaching
Applicants who don’t meet the following requirements will still be considered for the role, providing all relevant qualifications/checks are obtained prior to starting.
