Job Requirements for Dallas

As an AquaMobile swim instructor in Dallas, you will need:

  • Up to date First Aid & CPR certification: Completion of two-year American Red Cross certification at a local organization such as CPR Certification Dallas or Dallas CPR Education.
  • Swim Instructor/Lifeguard certification: Pass the written and practical exams from the American Red Cross with a score of at least 80%. Take classes at Dallas Aquatics or the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas.
  • Access to reliable transportation: Dallas Area Rapid Transit (a system with 161 routes, four light rail tracks and a streetcar that travels through Dallas and  13 surrounding cities such as Fort Worth, Plano and more), Uber/Lyft (rideshare services), cab (Henry’s Cab Service, Butterfly Taxi DFW, etc.), personal car
  • Two or more years of swim teaching/coaching and/or lifeguarding experience
  • A love for swimming and a passion for teaching

Applicants who don’t meet the following requirements will still be considered for the role, providing all relevant qualifications/checks are obtained prior to starting.

Sometimes you can love something so much that you want to turn it into a career! Here are some of the options for swimming careers in Dallas.

  • High School Swim Coach: Mentor the next generation of great swimmers. If you’re an experienced swimmer who wants to share your passion with others, this is the career for you. In Dallas, Woodrow Wilson High School and Hillcrest High School have swim teams.
  • Parent/Child Swim Instructor: There’s nothing better than spending time with your loved ones. This role allows you to teach parents and children together. You’ll find work at a swim school such as Dallas Swim Kids or Dallas Infant Aquatics.
