BIO

Hello! I am a teacher, writer, and life-long swimmer and water polo player. Growing up in California, I was lucky enough to be in the pool year-round, and I have been teaching swimming for over 15 years to students of all ages. I began competitive swimming at age five, then swam and played water polo all the way through high school. I was a freestyle sprinter, breaststroker, and IMer, and I loved competing in relays and whittling my times by swimming 200’s in practice. In college, I switched my focus solely to water polo and played 2Meter/Hole for Bucknell University’s Women’s Water Polo team (aka the best four years of my life!). Most recently, I taught swimming full-time to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade at a private school in NYC. I loved teaching the little ones to swim as much as I loved teaching the older kids how to do flip-turns, dives, and improve their times.  I also served as the Boys and Girls Varsity Swim Coach and taught private lessons to infants, kids, and adults, coached Masters Swim, and ran after school water polo and swim clinics. Bottom line–I love swimming and I am a flexible, easy-going, and student-focused instructor. I love helping babies and beginners gain comfort in the water just as much as much as I love fine-tuning strokes with a competitive swimmer in preparation for an upcoming meet. Most of all, I make swimming FUN! Whatever your needs, don’t hesitate to be in touch! Look forward to meeting you.
