BIO

Hi, my name is Jaime and I’m a UCSD graduate, LA native living in beautiful Pacific Beach. I’m 27 years old and I’ve been working in the water and with kids since I was 15. My very first job was teaching swim lessons and lifeguarding at a rec center in Calabasas, and as soon as I moved to San Diego I began working at the Wave House in Mission Beach. I worked there through 2012 when they changed management, and got my Red Cross LGI certification in the meantime, before I moved to a kayak shop in La Jolla. Currently, during the school year, I help run a before/after school program at Doyle Elementary and in the summer I go back to Wave House to lead their summer camps. I love being outside and in the water [obviously] and in my leisure time I like to take my dog hiking, go camping, do yoga, and just try to stay active anyway I can. I was a Cultural Studies major and I absolutely love the attractions San Diego has to offer. I spend a lot of time going to residents free Tuesdays at Balboa Park, and I’ve been volunteering for a few specific museums there and downtown for the last 3 years. Thanks for taking the time to check me out! Can’t wait to meet you!

Credentials

Certified Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED, Title 22, LGI and WSI. More than 10 years experience teaching and training in the water, and out.

Specialties

I taught a lot of mommy and me classes at the Wave House, as well as some adult exercise classes. The bulk of my lessons were children aged 4-7, but I can definitely teach and demonstrate swim team level strokes and drills.
