Hi! My name is Maddie. I’m 26 years old. I consider myself to be friendly, up-beat, active, diligent, thorough, patient, whimsy, and most importantly… fun! I believe making swimming a fun process is the best way to foster success. I have more than ten years experience teaching swimming, and have been a swimmer since before I could walk! I competed on YMCA teams all throughout my childhood and was a varsity swimmer through all of high school. As a result of my years competing, I have an arsenal of stroke technique drills, a sense of drive, commitment, and an appreciation of the benefits of practice. This has given me an acute awareness of what it takes to be a strong, capable swimmer. I have years and years of experience in childcare ranging from babysitting, to full-time nannying, to being a camp counselor. Most recently as a counselor at a sleep away camp in the Adirondacks, along with other things, I taught swimming lessons to children ages 9-14, American Red Cross levels 1 (non-swimmers) to 6 (pre-Lifeguards). In this way, I have had the opportunity to marry my love of the water with my penchant for working with children. I would love to be of help to you and/or your children. I am a reliable person, and just as excited about teaching swimming as you are to learn!
