We’re happy to hear that YEC member Diana Goodwin‘s company AquaMobile Swim School donated $10,000 to the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in partnership with the Small Business Challenge. The money will be used to support Holland Bloorview’s swim program for children with disabilities, including providing swim scholarships for families that can not afford swim lessons and to train more instructors in adaptive aquatics techniques.
YEC member Phil Laboon, CEO of Eyeflow Internet Marketing, is looking for guests to interview for his new show “Pittsburgh TechTalk,” which is launching next month on PCTV. Anyone in the Pittsburgh technology scene (marketing, software, development, entrepreneurs, etc.) is welcome to apply. For those who are interested, here is the pilot episode.
Earlier this week, Blonde 2.0 founder Ayelet Noff was voted no. 10 in GeekTime’s “The 100 most influential people in Israeli hi-tech in 2015.” Fellow YEC member Ben Lang, founder of MapMe, was also honored as no. 13. Congratulations to both members!
On February 17th, 2016, YEC member company Rand Marketingwill be hosting its 2nd Annual eCommerce Expo South Florida in Fort Lauderdale. Founder and CEO Seth Rand says the conference is meant to help managers, manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors or retailer interested in expanding into the eCommerce space.
Erik Severinghaus‘s company, SimpleRelevance, was recently acquired by Rise Interactive. The two companies have previously worked together for more than a year and the duo will provide a powerhouse for digital marketing. Go here to read more about the news.
Congratulations to Richard Lorenzen for getting engaged to longtime girlfriend, Pinsi Lei, last night at the Four Seasons Restaurant in New York!
YEC member Kenny Nguyen, founder and CEO of Big Fish Presentations, also got engaged this week. He proposed to his fiancé at Disney World.

P2Binvestor co-founder and CEO G. Krista Morgan wrote the following article for Fast Company: “How Not to Squander Your Startup’s New Funding.” She writes, “If I’d spent slightless less time trying to find investors and more time looking for customers, we would’ve been in a much better place.” Read the article to hear more of her tips.
