The rural town of Glenorie, New South Wales, has some history to it. Originally, it was part of the Dural arena, which is why it was formerly known as Upper or North Dural. However, it changed after the township began to grow and settlers decided it needed its own name. Where the name comes from is still unknown to this day. It’s sometimes said that it translates from the Indigenous word meaning “much water.” Others say that it was named after a Scottish town that has never been identified!
