Ready to dive into swimming lessons? Well, so are we! Here are the answers to frequently asked questions about booking swim lessons!

Q: How frequently should I book lessons for my children?

A: Our swimming programs are intensive, but the way to quickly progress is booking lessons 2-3 times per week. Children tend to forget skills when they are taught once a week. Families who vacation or have packed schedules in the summertime can opt for daily lessons as well. Skills are acquired with intensive practice rather than intermittent lessons. Our experience shows these results.

Q: How many lessons should I book for my children?

A: Usually, 8-12 lessons help children progress over time. Since some skills are more difficult than others, which means they take longer to learn. Less than 8 lessons will not let your child reach their full potential. Practice makes perfect. Over time, your child will develop confidence by having enough time to learn.

Q: What is the right age for my child to start swimming lessons?

A: Swimming lessons for children can start as early as 6 months old. Between the ages of 6-18, children can develop comfort in and around the water. At 18 months old, an instructor can start helping your child develop independence in the water. As your child grows older, it becomes easier to make progress.

Q: How long will it take for my child to learn how to swim?

A: The answer for this question can greatly vary from student to student. Every child learns at a different pace. An instructor has to teach a few lessons to give you an informed answer. This is determined once your child gets in the water a few times.

Q: Can I reschedule my lessons if need be (because of weather/illness/vacation, etc.)?

A: Of course! All you need to do is inform our office a minimum of 24 hours in advance and we can reschedule your lesson. In the event of a last minute emergency, please inform the instructor via their cell phone. Then call the office at 1-888-950-7946.

Q: Can I book a trial lesson?

A: Trial lessons cannot fully indicate progress made that 8 or more lessons do. The first lesson is an opportunity for students to bond and build rapport with their teacher. What if things aren’t working out with lessons or your instructor? Well, we will find you a new instructor or refund your money.

Q: How soon in advance should I book my lessons?

A: It’s best to book lessons sooner rather than later. Times fill up fast.  This commonly happens in the summer between the second half of June through August. There are more times open in May and the first half of June. We offer lessons year around, but there is less availability in some areas.
